The locative is the one case that cannot stand alone — it never appears without a preposition in front of it. After o, meaning about, the pronouns take these forms:

Two things save a lot of memorising. Njemu serves both on and ono, and njima serves all three plural genders. Serbian collapses distinctions in the plural that it keeps carefully in the singular.

The one to watch is sebi. Whenever the person being talked about is the same as the person doing the talking, Serbian switches to the reflexive: Pričao je o njemu means about somebody else, Pričao je o sebi means about himself. English uses the same word him in both and lets context decide; Serbian refuses to be vague about it.

And notice the participle changing along the way: pričao for a man, pričala for a woman, pričali for a group. That agreement is with the subject, never with the person being discussed.
