Masculine nouns ending in a consonant usually take -I or -OVI in the plural. Mostly international, borrowed words — so the meaning is free, and all you're practicing is the ending.
Most masculine nouns add a simple -i: telefon → telefoni. One-syllable nouns often add -ovi instead: sat → satovi. There's no shortcut for which is which — it's worth just memorizing each pair as you meet it.
